How do I receive payment for my sales?

Within the first week of each month, you will receive a royalty statement from Label Engine. You can view your list of received statements by navigating to Distribution > Statements.

Once your received balance is over $10 USD you can submit a payment request. To make a payment request navigate to Settings > Payment Requests.

Note that if you wish to be paid via wire transfer or ACH your balance must be over $100 USD.

Payment requests and Tipalti

Payment requests are handled via our trusted payment partner Tipalti. We will ask you to enter your payment details by clicking to open a pop-up window.

Tipalti will ask you to provide your legal name and address as well as your preferred payment method. You may receive emails from Tipalti when your payment details are updated.

It is important that you enter correct information otherwise your payment will be delayed.

If you have multiple Label Engine accounts, we recommend that you use a different contact email address when filling in the Tipalti form for each one.

Available Payment options

- PayPal for payments over $10

- Wire transfer for payments over $100

- ACH for US residents for payments over $100.

- eCheck (Local Bank Transfer) for selected Non-US residents for payments over $100

Fees

Depending on your selected payment method and country of residence, a fee will be deducted from the total you receive.

Paypal (USD only):

  • US resident: $1.00 + 2% up to $2.00 USD

  • Non-US resident: $1.00 + 2% up to $21.00 USD

eCheck (Non-US residents only): $5.00 USD

eCheck payments will be sent in your local currency however the exchange is subject to conversion fees of 2.5% to 3%.

ACH (US residents only): $0.49 USD

Wire Transfer:

  • US resident: $15.00 USD (additionally there will be a $15.00 USD charge for receipt)

  • Non-US resident paid in non-USD: $20.00 USD

  • Non-US resident paid in USD: $26.00 USD

* Please note that the Tipalti window may provide information regarding fees that differs from the above.

All payments are made in US dollars, unless an international currency is selected for eCheck or Wire.

Tax Questionnaire Flow

You will be asked to submit a tax form. Payees can complete a questionnaire to determine which tax form they are required to submit. Tipalti suggests the relevant tax form based on the payee’s answers to the questions. Answers are not saved in the system; therefore, if payees exit the questionnaire before completion, they will have to restart the questionnaire.

It is important that when completing the tax forms you use the same legal name and email address throughout the entire process. If you require any assistance please contact us.

Processing Time

All payment requests received before the 21st of each month will be processed before the end of the month.

If your payment request is received after the 21st, it will not be processed until the end of the following month e.g. if your payment request is received on the 22nd of June, it may not be processed until the 31st of July.

As a result, payment requests are now processed only at the end of the month. You will have up until 11:59 PM GMT on the 20th of each month to complete a payment request if you wish to receive the money by the end of that month.

Once your payment request has been processed ,the time it takes for the funds to arrive in your account depends on the payout method you have selected.

  • ACH: Up to 3 business days

  • Wire Transfer: 3–7 business days

  • eCheck: 3–7 business days

  • PayPal: 3–7 business days

Weekend or holiday delays:

Most banking systems don’t process transactions on weekends or holidays. If your payment request is processed between Friday and Sunday, it may be delayed until the following week.

What other fees could I incur?

Failed transactions due to incorrect payment information under the updated content licensing agreement may be deducted from your account balance in addition to transaction fees.

For international accounts, we strongly recommend that you reach out to the receiving institution to ensure your account is able to receive payments in your selected method and that your account is in good standing.

Will I have to pay taxes on my earnings?

Label Engine is required by United States tax laws to collect certain tax-related information. You may have to pay taxes on your earnings. It is your responsibility to understand and comply with any and all applicable tax laws. For specific information regarding U.S. tax requirements, please visit the IRS website or consult with a tax professional.

What if I don’t have a tax I.D.?

If you are a U.S. business or individual, or a non-U.S. business with U.S. Activities, as described on our Tax Information Page, and you do not have a tax I.D. such as a Taxpayer Identification Number or Social Security Number, you’ll need to acquire one. We suggest that you obtain your TIN as soon as possible. Please note that the process of obtaining a TIN may take several weeks. You can visit the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website for more information on obtaining a U.S. TIN.

Non-US Residents: You will be prompted to fill out a W8-BEN form.

Am I subject to US Tax withholdings (non-US residents)?

You may be subject to US tax withholdings if you are not a US resident, and may be exempt if:

  • You are a resident in a country with a tax treaty

  • You qualify for non-US activities

If the certificate for non-US activities has been signed, withholding rates are not applicable for W-8BEN and W-8BEN-E tax forms. If you believe you qualify for non-US activities, the option will appear when you fill out your W8-BEN.
