There could be several reasons for this:

1. The exchange rates.

The royalties in your statement are automatically converted to your own set currency based on today's exchange rates. First, check what currency your statement was imported using by selecting the royalty format when importing a statement. If the currency does not match your own, the exchange rate will be displayed. Your royalty total should equal the total of the statement multiplied by this rate.

2. There could be additional sheets in your statement.

If you are upload a xls or xlsv please check if there are additional sheets (there are usually tabs at the bottom of the page). Every sheet will be read in, so delete the additional sheets if you don't need them.

3. There could be extra data in your statement.

Quite often your store or distributor may include some additional totals within your statement. If any numbers from this data appear in the royalty column then they will appear within your imported royalty statement. To prevent this, please delete any data from your statement that is not a royalty listing. Alternatively, you can go through your royalties after they have been imported and delete the lines that are not royalties.

4. You could be using the wrong column.

Click 'Show Columns' when uploading your royalty statement. The column for 'Royalty' should be the same as that you are using to calculate your total when viewing your statement in excel or similar.

5. You are using the wrong total

Quite often the amount of money paid to you by a store or distributor does not match the amount of money listed in your statement. Please be sure to correctly add up the total on your statement using the Auto-Sum feature in Excel or similar. In some cases, we have even found that the totals already listed on the statement received from stores or distributors are not correct!

6. Deleted royalties

If you are checking totals after you have done some allocations, please note that your statement total will be updated if you have deleted or split any royalties.

7. Rounding

Label Engine works to six decimal places. If you statement uses more decimal places or if your statement is in a different currency to yours, the accuracy of each royalty will be reduced by a small amount when you import it. Therefore, you may occasionally see a small difference in your totals.
