When you upload a royalty statement and click 'Check Matches', the system will compare each royalty against previous royalties and your pre-allocations.

The system performs several checks based upon the data in each royalty. The UPC and ISRC codes are deemed most important, if they match then the system will overlook differences in artist names or titles. The catalogue number is used as an indicator if the UPC does not exist. If an ISRC does not exist, then track data is examined.

Before analyzing each royalty, the system looks through previous statements for matching royalties and sees how they were allocated. If a previous royalty is found, the system will use the same type of match as was used previously, provided it is still valid. If a previous match is used, the match will be designated as 'Pre-Match', otherwise 'Match' is used.

As the system examines each royalty, it looks for various kinds of matches in the following order:

1. Have you set any videos to be matched automatically?
If the video ID of the royalty matches one of the video's you have specified for a track or release, the pre-allocations for that track or release will be used.

2. Have you entered licensed tracks?
The UPC and catalogue number from the License will be used for matches along with the data from each licensed track.

3. Have you created pre-allocations?
If a pre-allocation with matching data is found, then a match is made.

If a match is found for a royalty, then you can apply the allocations by verifying the match. This can be done for all royalties at once by clicking "Verify Matches" however we recommend reviewing each royalty first by clicking "Check" to ensure the match is correct.

If a match has been found but the system thinks that one of your pre-allocations is a better match, a triangle alert icon will be displayed next to the match type when viewing the royalty - clicking this will display the suggested pre-allocation highlighted in yellow.

Depending on the type of match, the system may verify the match in different ways:

If the match is for the full release of a license, then to verify the match the royalty will be split up into each track included within the license and the royalty divided between each track. Each track will be automatically allocated and the original royalty for the license will be marked as deleted.
