When you are building a new release in Label Engine, the first things you must do are to choose the label that you would like to release from, choose the release type (e.g. Single, EP, Album, etc.), and enter in the release information (e.g. Catalogue Number, Release Artist, Release Title, Release Date, etc.).
Once you've specified your release details, it is time to upload your tracks via the "Add Tracks" section so that they may be added to the release. (See below.) Notice that the compatible formats are 16 bit 44.1 KHz, 16 bit 48 KHz, 24 bit 44.1 KHz or 24 bit 48 KHz wav, flac, aiff or mp3 files. Only 16 bit 44.1KHz files will be accepted as a "Master" to be used for Distribution. All others will be marked as "Pre-master”.
Various upload methods are available to make it as easy as possible to get your music into our system.
Upload files through browser: This is the most common upload method. It allows you to simply enter the Artist, Title, and Mix, and choose the file you wish to upload using your chosen internet browser. (Notice, you may only upload up to 5 tracks at a time and the total size of the 5 uploads can’t exceed a maximum of 300 Mb.)
Upload files using FTP: If your audio files are available via an FTP client, you may choose to upload them via FTP. To utilize this upload method, please visit the Catalogue tab on the main menu and choose the "FTP Repository" option. On this page you'll be able to view instructions on how to set up your connection with the Label Engine FTP. The repository section can be seen as a dropbox where all the uploaded files via the repository will appear, and you can easily start creating releases by using the “Build Release” feature. Also, when deleting tracks from releases, they will show on the repository and you can permanently delete them from there. Every LE account has 4 GB of repository space.
Upload files later: This method allows you to add the metadata of each track and upload the files at a later stage. Once the metadata is created and you would like to add the files to the tracks, simply edit the track by going to Distribution > Your Release > Edit Release > Edit Track 1
Select tracks from FTP Repository: This method will become available only if you have files in your FTP repository. Just select the file(s) you want to add to the release.
Copy tracks from other releases: This method allows you to build a new release using tracks that you have already uploaded and used in previous releases. It's especially useful when creating compilations or samplers.
Upload files from Dropbox: By selecting this upload method, you can upload your files directly from your Dropbox account by clicking on the Dropbox icon and linking your account.
