Music distribution is the delivery of recorded musical content from a label or artist to the consumer. In today’s modern age of music, the majority of music distribution is done digitally to online music services.

A digital music distributor, such as Label Engine, receives music from an artist or label in its digital form and delivers it to all types of digital services. These service types can range from streaming services (i.e. Spotify) to download stores (i.e. iTunes) or ad revenue based platforms (i.e. YouTube), and everywhere in between.

It is extremely beneficial as an independent label or artist to employ a digital music distributor because of their strong connections throughout the professional music industry, their access to vendors and stores, and their knowledge of distribution best practices.
